i have been working on my c++ final project. since we haven’t been working with gui interfaces, our apps are all text based. so what better thing to do than make the app oldskool bbs style. here's some ascii from my airline flight reservation system...
man! I just got home from the tattoo shop and its 4:15am!!!!! these kids who think they are baller's came in at closing time (that’s 9:30pm btw) and all 3 wanted to get a piece done tonight. don’t get me wrong, i seriously don’t mind staying late at the shop, but 3 pieces! and of course, they were all large pieces. tony had to have make at least a G tonight, and i got a $50. how generous, after i looked up all these classic pieces of artwork, showed them to the guys, helped them decide which one to get and where (cuz they had no idea what they wanted) then scanned in all the images, cropped them, sized them, adjusted the contrast, and printed them. then had to wait around while tony tattooed them all night long. whatever. all i’m saying is 13 hours is a long time to hang out at a tattoo shop.
so i guess that quasi-apprenticeship at hot-rods paid off. i was recently approached for a job by a friend of mine named tony varlas at egobrain tattoo. as a graphic designer, webdesiner, computer technician, photographer, and piercer. the shop is located in downtown steubinville, so the work is mostly walk-ins. business has been slow so far, the shop is brand new, so i got paid yesterday in free work. a note about my new tattoo. the * in computer is called the wildcard. it is anything and everything with in a set range. it is used in random number generation and search algorithms. so yeah, i got an asterisk tattoo in my mouth.
the versus project has begun! the idea is teaming up with another artist to create a collaborative piece of art. my first "opponent" is lil`spooky (aka anthony prusakowski), and we have been playing a 4 week long game of photoshop tennis that has yielded an awesome H.R. Giger-esque wallpaper we have entitled: "anatomy". enjoy!

today was a little too interesting not to write about. I woke up and checked to see if the paint was dry on my new computer. I made 3 camouflage stencils that I used on the entire box (including cd/dvd drives, sound blaster audigy, power buttons, EVERYTHING!). I also cut out a toxic symbol as the case window on the door. after putting all the components in, and a brief battle with some jumper settings, it finally turned on and recognized all the devices.
hellyeah! on july 14 2003 i turned 21!
i also threw a drunken bash! thanx to everyone who showed up!

so the funniest thing ever happened last night, pete, nina, and myself were board last night and decided to see what was going down at k-mart. we were in the car talking when out of nowhere we heard insane screaming. we really thought that someone was being assaulted. but then we saw this little kid with his mom screaming! then out of nowhere he stopped, looked at his mom and said:
"w-w-w-what are you doing mom?
kid continues screaming...
b-b-but... i wanted that game that i wanted!"
guess you just had to be there.
